Hi, when i was using dreamweaver pc power suddenly went off. when i reopen the page, i was working it shows no text or anything , just a blank page. i've been working on this html page for a week and it still shows 11kb. but when i opened it there is notthing. please help me
Did you save your file?
When you open the file in DW, can you try going to 'Code' view to see if the code shows up there?
Are you able to see any content in your .html file if you open it using any other text editor such as Notepad++, Textmate, Textwrangler, Smultron, etc..?
Thanks for helping me.
before power went off I saved the file(about 5 seconds before power went
off. It quickly saved as it only contained text). I have been working with
this file for a week so I saved couple of times.
file size is still the same though, 11kb
nothing shows up in code view too.
nothing shows up in the notepad. but the weird thing is, I can select
(highlight) the notepad contents although there is nothing visible.
I tried to copy these invisible contents to word, didn't work
when open this page in a browser and click view source, there is nothing
I wish I could send the file but I saw the warning "Forums do not accept
please don't give up

I've uploaded the html page and this is the link
Thank you, but I am sorry to report that there is no salvageable code in that file.
Did you also lose any dependent files associated with the page?
So, chin up, and start over, and save often.
NOTE: If your electric utilities are sketchy, you might want to invest in an uninterriptible power supply for your computer and monitor.
Thanks for trying every one, thanks for your time
I didn't lose other 3 files data. All the 4 files were open in dream weaver
at the time of power lost. But I was only working with this one, other 3 I
only used for reading purposes. I must have saved this file more than 50
times over the week, when I was working on it.
I did save the file at least every 5-10 minutes and I had been working with
it for a week. so I can't believe there is actually nothing there. Simple
programs like word & even notepad, you can view the file up to the last
save. It doesn't completely wipe of everything from the beginning. you can
view thing up to the last save. I've never seen a behavior like this in
programs I ever used, not even in free/ GPL software. If an expensive and
an advance program like dreamweaver can't save the file's contents up to
the last save, during a power fail what's the point of saving.
let me know if you find something or any new suggestions
