Why is Recolor Artwork panel making bad color conversion choices?

  1. A Color Group is dbl clicked in the Swatches Panel.
  2. The Recolor Artwork Panel opens.
  3. Selecting the button that 'Limits the Color Group to Colors in the Swatch Library', 'Pantone+Solid Color' is chosen.

Often, a singlePantone color is badly chosen... note the 3rd and far right color choices...Screen Shot 2013-05-18 at 7.03.07 PM.png

is there a variable in Illustrator or a Color Profile issue that needs adjusted?

    You are the artist.

Don’t expect a machine to do the work for you.

It could be due to your choice of the sirt option when in the Color Reduction Options dialog.

May simply be the underlying mixing logic of some specific CMYK colors....
