Trouble using illustrator for screen printing

When I print out my image it is printing out in all small dots not solid black.

    first--what format is your 'image' tiff, jpeg, vector art created in illustrator, etc?

    second--when you 'print out' your image--what are you printing it out to--inkjet, laser, imagesetter?

    third--can you post a screenshot of your image, or the image itself?

     

    IF you can answer these questions then it will be easier to assist you.

    an eps file containing vector and raster images?  can you post a screenshot? or upload the file itself? or a PDF of it (made from illustrator)?

    please post a PDF(click the insert image icon) so I can see how it's built!

    I suspect there is some raster art, or the image is screened somehow or there may be an illustrator setting that needs tweaking--can't tell without seeing the art
