Problem Video File

May 21, 2013 3:18 AM

Hello all,

Having a slight problem with embedding a video file in my Indesign document. I've downloaded the video from you send it and put it on my desk top. When I place the file into my document and goto the media settings I get this prompt. See below.

My internet connection is running fine and the video file is on my desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Apparently what you've downloaded from "you send it" is not the complete video file. The file must point to a server on the Internet. Disconnect yourself from the Internet and try playing the video in QuickTime or Windows Media Player without placing it in InDesign.

What file format is the file you downloaded?

Yes, I place MP4 files in InDesign all the time and have never gotten that message.

Try the test of running it as a video outside of InDesign as I wrote up above.
