May 21, 2013 9:39 PM

Windows XP Dreamweaver CS5, How do I add a page to a Dreamweaver Template? I believe the Template was written in Dreamweaver 4.

    1. Choose File→New.The New Document window opens.
    2. On the window's far left side, click the "Page from Template" button.

      A list of all defined sites appears in the Site list.

    <!-- #BeginTemplate "/Templates/sons_template2.dwt" -->

    This line means that the template was built in DW4 (not DW CS4) or earlier. Very long in the tooth.

    <!-- DW6 -->

    This line means that the template was edited in DW6 at some time although the template syntax was not converted up to DW6 standards (DW6, or DWMX as it was called completely changed DW's template syntax from how it was written in DW4 - there was no DW5). Current versions of DW still recognize the legacy template code, so no worries there.

    Anyhow, Ken has you on the right track if your question is "how do I create a new page from a DW template". If that's not your question, please clarify!
