Everytime I attempt to "package" my 40 page Indesign file I get the little rolling beachball indefinitely. I was able to do it on a single page document. This "freeze" also happens frequently when attempting to use "Find and change" on same document.
Extremely frustrated with and really don't have time for these constant issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hangup is more likely caused by something in the file, as opposed to your system. Are there any dynamic or automatic items in there? Cross references? Conditional text? InCopy links? How about complex vector art?
No to all you items mentioned. Really a fairly basic magazine. I did have one point were a page behaved very strangley. Half of the page dissappeared. I've attempted to export to .idml and reopen, but i can't get the idml file to open.

Using Suitcase Fusion 12.1.7
I believe this is a very old version fo Suitcase. Anything prior to Suitcase fusion 4 is not comaptible with ID CS6, and that would likely be the problem (this is definitley Text related, and I'd guess that it's a problem trying to activate and copy the fonts).
And please delete your autosignature when replying by email.
Updated to Suitcase Fusion 4 Version 15.0.5 (515)
Updated to OS Lion 10.8.3
Double checked Indesign CS6 is current
Tried to "Package" for output, and when I do a find/change and select search the entire document if freezes.
Where are you packaging too? If your doing it to a server I would first try doing it to your desktop. You could also try "copy ilnks to..." under the links pallete utilities to collect the links. If you want to narrow it down you could also create a test document - make a copy of your file and delete all the text in that doucment and try again to see if the issue lies with in the text as some previous people have suggested. You could also delete all the placed images/links and leave text to see what those results are as well.
