Textured shading

Hey there everyone!

I've got a question on how to achieve an effect. I can't for the life of me figure out how the heck to do it, and the posts i've found on here haven't given me the info/tricks that would work. So I was hoping I could reach out to some folks on here that have some insight on this!

The main thing i'm asking about are the grainy texturey shading they've done (like on the lobster tail, and in the background area some) and the almost half-tonish and texturey shading like on the Ski one. Anyone have any idea how the heck to accomplish this?

    s,

You may start by looking through the Effect>Artistic etc (the Photoshop like things in the Effect dropdown menu). One of them is (or at least was) called Film Grain.
