Insufficient RAM

Jun 12, 2013 4:49 PM

I am running ADP Elements 11 on a Mac OS 6.8. I get the message of insufficient RAM when I use photomerge.

I cannot change the allocation of 4gb even thought I have 12 gb installed.

Is there a fix for this?

PSE is only a 32bit application so it can’t use 12gb of RAM. Are you trying to merge a lot of photos? Try splitting into two separate batches and then merge the two saved images. Or try manual, interasctive etc. rather than auto.

If you're getting this for edge fill, that's pretty common. You can raise the ram percentage to 90% or so in the preferences>performance, but as 99jon said, PSE can't see more than 3 GB of ram, no matter how much you have.

Sometimes turning on geometric distortion correction or using hthe Collage merge style will avoid that warning.
