Problem upgrading from CF8.01 to CF10

Jun 13, 2013 7:39 AM

I have a problem when it come to upgrade my CF. My server is windows 2008 with IIS 7.0

Installation end with a warning that migration has fail.

After that I can't even open my CF administrator, it request a program to open the index.cfm file. so I assumed .cfm handler were not set up. I have set up all my handler and even there nothing is working....

I have 2 time, the 2nd time I started by deleting all CF 8 handler and stop cf8 services, still end up the same .....

Now I believe I have lost enough time trying this update  ...

My next move is to try uninstall CF8, delete all traces of CF8 and try to install CF10 as a new install ....  is this a good ideas or are there possibilities that I will end up with the same problem ???

I started using ColdFusion with Allaire Cold Fusion 3.1 and NEVER did I had this much problem upgrading ....  very very frustrating ......

    Hello Verrückter,

Did you check the logs? Are you working on a live application or is it a test/dev server? While instaling CF10, are you selecting the built-in webserver or are you selecting the default one? Also, after installing CF10, did you confirm that, the CF8 handlers were removed and the new handlers are pointing to CF10.

Please provide us some more details.

    Regards,

    Anit Kumar
