I have an existing .swf movie and I aquired the .fla files to make edits. I found the image I want to swap out but I am not sure how to do it. I was planning on using Flash Pro to make the edit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your reply. I have my 'Library' open, right clicked on the image in the library, went to 'Properties' but I did not see an 'import' button. Am I missing something? I am using Flash Pro CS6.
When I right-click I see a normal list of options to choose from. I'm not sure what bitmap panel you are referring to. When I right click the image and choose properties I see a "Symbols Properties" dialog box that opens up.
Thanks for your reply. I tried 'right-clicking' on the actual image on the stage and saw an option to 'swap bitmap' so I did that and it swapped the image for the one I wanted to replace it with. I am still not sure how to do it the way you described but at least this way worked. Now, do I just save and reupload the swf, fla and the new image I swapped it for?
if you only want to change the bitmap in the one on-stage instance what you did is ok. if you want to change them all, you should follow the same steps for that bitmap in your library panel (windows>library).
you need to publish a new swf using the updated fla to see the changes in your swf.
