Recording problem

Jun 14, 2013 1:54 PM

i have a problem recording into audition. i record with 2 microphones via an m-audio fasttrack pro asio device in an multitrck session.

During the recording session, suddenliy the sound is deformed. After some minutes it get's well again und damages agin after some time.

First i thougt that it could be the switch of the recording files - but it's defninitly not.

Has anyone any idea?

greetings Stefan

Does it happen at regular intervals?

Does it happen at the same time in a recording eg say 10 secs after you start recording?

Is there anything using the same usb ie is the device connected to a usb hub?

Try increasing the buffer size (Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware - select the settings button and increase 'latency' setting)

Try plugging the m-audio into a different usb outlet?

Try using a different asio driver eg asio4all

Try borrowing someone else's preamp unit

On top of Suitespot's list, disable system sounds and any other applications/processes that may from time to time take over the sound side of things in your computer.

Shut down things like email, anti virus, etc. etc. that may be grabbing your computer from time to time.
