Mac compatibility

Jun 20, 2013 11:49 PM

I received my Windows CS6 from an external who edited it on a Mac. Now working with this file on the Windows PC is almost impossible. Change from pointer to text edit menus takes minutes. Text editing is only possible character by character, mouse marking not possible - so slow.

Fonts have stayed unchanged.

Don't know what to do.

Global setup seems similar to the origin file (which works perfect as before)

Please help!

Thanks in advance

If you have a Mac you need the Mac version. How are you even getting it to run a Win Version on the Mac? With a virtual OS? That is not exactly recommended.

Because I don't know how legal the software transfer was you should contact Adobe, but I suppose you will have to pay for a Mac version, because your software is second hand it will propably be not possible to get a plattform change from Adobe.

    • Which fonts are used? OTF? Or others? Do you have the proper fonts for windows?
    • Are all linked files available?
    • Did you try to package again on your computer?
    • What does the file history tell? Hold down the ctrl-key and go to the menu "About InDesign…" (I think it is on the help menu on windows)
Has it been converted from another version or program?
      Do you see any crashes?

I would recommend to use otf, they can be both t1 and tt.
