    Hi future-architect,

    Can you check out the discussion on the thread in the time that the other experts get back to you?

    Which version?

    I ask this because the last versions of windows use IPV6 and you would probably need a IPv6 Listen directive in the Apache httpd.conf. I don't know what you have in your .conf at the moment.

    1) Open Apache(httpd-xampp.conf) by clicking on the Config buton for Apache.

    2) Search for <Directory "C:/xampp/phpmyadmin">

    3) Now just add Require all granted before </Directory>

    4) So the code will look like this.

    <Directory "C:/xampp/phpMyAdmin">

            AllowOverride AuthConfig

            Require all granted

    </Directory>

    5) Now finally Restart the xampp.

    Regards

    Bhawna

    Can you check in your "php.ini" file whether you have got a line such as:

    session.save_path = "c:/temp"

    If you don't have this then I suggest enter it or enable it by removing the semi-colon infront of the line.

    You also need to make sure that on your system there is a folder called temp in the root folder.

    When you have done this, restart the apache server or restart the machine so that the changes take effect.

    This should work now.

    You have not yet stated the version of windows, so I shall assume W8. In that case you should have the following lines in the hosts file

    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

        127.0.0.1       localhost

                   ::1       localhost

    The hosts file can be found in Windows/System32/Drivers/etc

    I am not able to locate it anywhere.  Can I download the config file from somewhere?

    Perhaps you should search for: "config.sample.inc.php".  It should be in the same folder as phpMyAdmin.  This folder should be in your htdocs folder.  To download the file, the easiest way is to download the phpMyAdmin from the source location in the web.  Make sure it is the same version as your own.  The file looks like this:

    <?php

    /* vim: set expandtab sw=4 ts=4 sts=4: */

    /**

    * phpMyAdmin sample configuration, you can use it as base for

    * or at <http://docs.phpmyadmin.net/>.

    I am not running Xampp but my setup is from the actual source of individual applications:  Apache, MySQL, PhpMyAdmin, PHP, and other applications like wordpress, drupal, joomla, etc etc.

    I run my own web server so that I don't have to rely on anybody.
