How update Spry menubar to CS6

Jun 25, 2013 12:22 AM

I am happily surprised to find the Spry menubar CS6 working on my iPad.

Does anyone know how to update older versions of the the Spry menubar (CS4 e.g.) to the CS6 version?

Just change the SpryAssets folder or does CS6 an automatic update?

The sites are now on an older machine with CS4.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Spry 1.7, based on 1.6 is the last version developed. Adobe "gave up" on Spry some time ago, and it has been replaced by other technologies like Jquery and CSS3. There are javascript menu bars that are much smaller (codewise) and easier to customize, as well as more universally usable with older browsers.

Dynamic Drive's "Smoothmenu" is one that I use.

    There's also Pure CSS Menu

Both do the same thing as Spry with technology that is still supported.

It would be a manual task and you have to modify the path in the files having the Spry Menu. Also you have to replace the content of the Spryassets folder with the latest one.

Be very careful while doing this.

    Thanks
