Adobe XI not responding

Can not open Adobe XI nor will it respond (shows "not responding" in the task bar window).  It does not let me exit the window, I have to restart the computer.  Can anyone Help.  I reinstalled the program w/no resolve.  Then a error box appeared, "Fatal Error.  Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server".  I have Windows 7.

    Some users were successful in resolving the issue for Acrobat X by navigating to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\acrobat\shell\open\ddeexec\application and changing the Key "AcroviewA10"  to  "AcroviewR10.

    try to change the similar key for Acrobat 11.

    Please export the registry before making any changes to it.
