How can I create Flash files for download on my website that don't trigger security warnings?

Jun 27, 2013 5:54 PM

I have flash files in both PC and Mac projector formats on my website that I want people to download but they trigger security warnings for some users.  How can I create these files so these warnings aren't triggered?  Do I need to get some sort of certification?  I use Flash CS5.

Thanks!

    Hi Karen

Can you give details on what kind of security alert are they getting? Is it from the browser?

Window OS throws this warning when one tries to execute unsigned installer. Maybe Windows is treating downloaded projector as an installer.

Have you considered Adobe Air as alternative?

that error is not related to adobe.  you assign any file to have an exe extension and users will probably see a warning.

you need to package those downloads in, for example, a zip file.
