Dreamweaver Business Catalyst SFTP Fail

Tags: #dreamweaver #businesscatalyst

I really think business catalyst has some potential, but I have yet to be able to connect to it using dreamweaver cc or cs6.

Windows 7 x64

Kaspersky Internet Security (I have tried with it disabled)

When I try to connect to the servers using sftp I get the following error: (it doesn't even give me a log file)

I have no problems logging in with FileZilla.

Both BC support and Dreamweaver support have been completely utterly useless.

I'm praying someone on here has come across this with a resolution. (seems to be a common problem - I have yet to fix)

Apparently this is a known problem because of the new TOU ITerms of Use).

To fix this, simply login here, tick the check box and login as per usual. You should now be able to connect to SFTP without issue.

    Good luck.

I am assuming you are correctly using these connection details:

    SFTP account details

    • Host name -
    • Protocol - SFTP / SSH File Transfer Protocol
    • Port - 22
    • User name -
    • Password - Your admin login password

Notice the way username is inserted here.

You might also want to check your FTP log if it has anything to suggest what is wrong.  To get the log file do this:

Window >> Results >> FTP Log

    See this picture:

I don't think you are connecting to the right domain.  What is your domain called?  You can't connect to because it is not yours.  Your login details should be something like this:

Look at post #3 above where I gave you how to do it

In the above is an example domain but you need to use your own.

From your graphics I see that you are connecting to and this won't work.

This problem only happens when port 22 is blocked by the proxy or local firewall. FTP log will not help as this is SFTP protocol. Can you uncheck the "automatic download" while creating the trial site and try again ? Also verify if you are able to login, in the BC Panel, using your adoeb ID.
