This is fantastic. Not only does the cropping function not work, now I have to figure out how to get my question her to post.
Yes, I downloaded PSE11 on a trial basis. I had the problem with cropping
and other modifications. Then I paid for PSE11 on line, with my debit card
and tried to crop, nothing else. I started at 8 pm and at 10:30 pm I
checked and the little message in the center of my photo was still there. I
spent $99.00 because the cropping function on Flickr.com would not work for
me. That service suddenly putting only 1/2 of my photo on the screen, so I
asked the advice of a professional photographer on Flickr and he
recommended PSE11. Now I am out $99.00 plus tax and I still cannot crop my
photos. What do I do now?
I know the difference between cropping and re-sizing. I want to eliminate
items from the photo that draw attention away from the subject matter. I'm
not looking to increase or decrease the size of the entire photo. Thanks
Does this help ?
Is there a step you are missing ?
Anytime a function takes more than a half minute, and that would be a really long time for PSE to do a function, there is something wrong. I shut down both PSE and the computer and that usually fixes it. If the problem persists, reset the preferences.
Look here for info about resetting preferences.
If resetting preferences doesn't work - it's time to reinstall.
If that doesn't work - it's time to look into the specs of your computer.
I have used PSE4, PSE9, PSE 11 and CS3 - and have never had difficulty with any version. PSE is usually a stable program. Anytime there is such a drastic problem and resetting preferences and reinstalling doesn't work, it's more likely it's something other than PSE itself.
