XF100 audio with Premiere Pro CC

Jul 4, 2013 12:25 PM

With Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and 6, my 2 stereo audio channels from my XF100 where imported as 2 differents stereo tracks on my timeline. Now with CC, I only have one stereo track, chanel 1 mono on the left and channel 2 mono on the right in my timeline. I use the Canon XF mpeg2 preset for my timeline as usual.

Can I have my two distinct stereo channels?

That's confusing.  Two stereo channels means 4 tracks total.  Is that what the camera has, or just the normal Left/Right?

In your preferences/audio set Stereo Media to Mono.

Thet will give two seperate mono channels being one L and one R.

    OK.

Are you sure these clips have all four channels in use?  Your description sound like they might only have the normal two.

    Set Media Stereo to Stereo?

Run a file through Media info and post a screendump in tree view.

Yes, and that is how I want them to be. Do not need seperate channels.

You'll have to modify the clip's audio, but you can do that in a batch by selecting all clips in the bin.

Putting both channels on one stereo track is the norm for PP, always has been.

You set the audio channels in the Preferences.

It either one stereo track or two mono tracks. See post 2.

You usually do that before importing the clips.
