I've just updated my Dell XPS1 27 from windows 8 to 8.1, every thing looked ok until I tried to run Bridge CC and a I get the "... stopped working" error. Checking some other programs like Indesign and Illustrator I'm finding that they open but stop responding after a short time. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that solves the problem. A cautionary note to anyone contemplating the update. Anyone else experienced this?
Uninstalling and reinstall rarely solves problem. Reset the preferences by holding down the Ctrl key and starting Bridge. You will get a reset window.
There may be a conflict with 8.1. Will see if others have similar problems. If there are send note to MS.
Moral to the story is don't use preview software on a production machine.
I would prefer to use the cleaner tool after uninstalling trial versions, gives you the options to check new releases before buying
But then again, when you depend on a production machine it is indeed wise to act carefully...
