Page numbering with ID C6 in a book with facing pages: what is the procedure?

Jul 6, 2013 8:30 PM

The sequence Layout->Numbering and Section Options does not tell me how I can start automatic numbering at a given page, or where to position the page numbers in a page  (top or bottom, center or left/right). How to set up (i.e., identify)  a section in which the numbering uses a style (e.g, i, ii, iii...) whereas in another section a different style (1,2,3...) would be used. Please provide the proper sequence of commands.

The controls for restarting numbering and for choosing a numbering style are both in the Numbering & Sections Options dialog. Where you place the text frame with the number marker (current page number marker special character) is entirely up to you, and is a completely independent operation from setting up the sections and logical page numbers themselves. This dialog is pretty intuitive. What seems to be the problem? Are you trying to do this by script?
