Fireworks Eyedropper

Jul 7, 2013 8:48 PM

…used to be able to sample colors from other applications and the desktop, but no longer does. Is there a way to make it default to the way it functioned in Fireworks CS5 or is there a key to hold down to make it sample colors outside of the Fireworks authoring environment?

I found that incredibly useful and I have Fireworks open much more than I do Photoshop, which I know has this capability now.

Have you tried clicking the Fill or Stroke color boxes and sampling using the color picker? I find that this method works, where the Eyedropper tool does not. If I recall correctly, the Eyedropper samples only "known" colors within a document, whereas the color picker samples from anywhere on the screen.
