Whenever I try to use the type tool in Photoshop CS5 (Mac) I get the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error." Has anyone had the same problem with Photoshop and if so can you please help me fix this issue? I already tried cleaning out the font cache and I validated all the fonts installed on the system and all passed so I have no clue what is going on with Photoshop I am having no issues with InDesign and Illustrator.

Thanks,

David

Not sure from what you've written whether you've seen all of:

Another possible approach:  Once you've selected the T tool, right-click on the tool icon in the options bar and Reset Tool.  Alternatively use the fly-out menu icon in the Character panel and choose Reset Character.
