I am asked to purge the cache, which I try to do, then NOTHING happens, just a grey big screen. I've tried to restart bridge with the control button down, then I have an option to purge, so I do it again, and still it's frozen grey. I just have to restart the computer to clear it. I can't find the library cache to clear that? where is it? Many thanks to anybody who can help, I've got loads of work on next week, including 3 weddings, so I really need it working.

Don't know the location for it on a windows machine but in Bridge Preferences Cache tab you can easily check your self because it shows the path.
When you have that location quit bridge and dump the cache file. Restart Bridge holding down control key and also choose reset prefs and then try again.
THANK YOU that's worked, so great to be able to view my photos, instead of a grey screen! but the cache did take some finding - it was in a hidden folder, called app data, then roaming, for anybody else struggling with this problem, and there was 10Gb of cache to clear!
