Lens Correction Question

Jul 26, 2013 6:29 AM

I have a Nikon D7100 that does in-camera lens corrections for NIkon lenses. If I use the LR lens corrections am I just messing things up?

Your Nikon probably does lens corrections when it produces JPG files, but leaves the raw files alone, and usually LR only has lens-correction profiles for raw files, so I think you’ll be ok.

You can easily tell how things are working by shooting raw+jpg of some architectural scenes with wide angle and using the X|Y compare mode in Library to compare a raw file with lens corrections enabled in LR to the corresponding jpg where the camera has done the lens corrections but LR has not.
