Hi all. I'm studying design but I have some trouble with this simple thing. I don't know how to achieve this effect in the best and natural way possible..
Is that a brush? how do you call this shape/brush in english?

It was likely created by either drawing it with the pencil tool or by using the Image Trace feature of a scanned photo of the background part.

You do see the irony in your statements, right?

How better for a student to learn than to persevere? That image, once you get a bit more practice with the pen tool, should only take you 5 minutes. If you were coming up with a new to you design, longer. But you have a sample and are only copying it.

Get to using that pen tool and learn.

It may well be a brush.

You might just take the manual http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator.html and search for brushes. Then just do what written there. It's fairly easy.

The pen tool doesn't suck if you know how to use it.
