Hyperlinking to a bookmark within a snippet

Jul 30, 2013 9:39 AM

I created a snippet, inserted a bookmark, and then tried to hyperlink to that bookmark (within the snippet).

When I try to link (by highlighting text to hyperkink and clicking Insert > Hyperlink/Popup, I do not see the bookmark I created.

Any ideas why the bookmark is not visible.? As I understand, one can link to a bookmark in a  snippet as long as it is internal.

Thank you for any insight.

A snippet is a holder for text that will be added to the output files when you generate your help. As such it is not in your source topics and is not listed as a result.

In your topic type the text you want for the link. Then go to Insert Hyperlink and just type #bookmarkname. That will create the link and when you generate the help, the snippet text including the bookmark will get added. The link will then work.
