I am trying to take a single lyric out of a song. I have gotten far enough to isolate where the lyric is, then take out the vocals using "Center Channel Extractor", and it actually sounds like what I want when it's being previewed. The problem is that when I apply the effect part of the lyric comes back. Is there a way to apply the effect so it sounds exactly like what it does during the preview? Thank you very much...
Frankly, I've never heard of it NOT being the same when finished.
First off, are you working in Waveform or Multitrack view? The Centre Channel Extractor really isn't suitable for real time use in Multitrack--it takes large amounts of processor power.
In Waveform view, once you're happy with the preview, you have to hit the "Apply" button and let the effect process. THEN you have to physically save the changed file...this doesn't happen automatically. A tip is to use "Save As" and rename the new file so you've still got your original to work with if needed.
Thanks for the feedback. I thought it was strange, and maybe I just don't
have a good ear for it, but I'm pretty damn sure that part of the word
comes through after it's applied and not before. Either way I did figure
out how to tweek some other settings in the center channel extractor to get
close to the desired effect, at least good enough for my purposes. BTW,
using Waveform. Thank you.
