After installing LR 5 I found that hardly any folders or my collections did not transport over

I have upgraded from LR4 to LR 5 and hardly any folders or any collections have made the journey.

Does anyone know how I can get all my photo's into LR5.

When you did the upgrade, by default, the installer should provide you with a prompt asking whether you wish to make a copy of your LR 4 Catalog and upgrade it to a LR Catalog.

Did you see this prompt and if so, what choice did you make? Depending on the size of your Catalog this may take quite some time, mine took close to half and hour so you should be patient.

Start LR5, do File>Open Catalog, then in the browser window select your final LR4 catalog. That will give you the prompt to update it to LR5.....

Yes, if you double click the Lr4 Catalaog it should be upgraded via a copy.

No I didn't see the prompt for some reason, I'm sure it would have taken at least as long as it did in your case as there are thousands of photo's there.

Is there a way I can get my photo's into LR5?

If I just open LR5 with my saved catalogue from LR4 would this do the trick?

The release-candidate (public beta) for LR 5.2 is available at Adobe Labs:
