I would like to utilize the tags function within Acrobat to either delete the extra tags or extract the tags I need. Is this doable without addition software?
I have attempted to delete the tags in the role map. However, even after the deletion of the tags, the content has not changed. Is there a conversion I need to do to apply only the tags that I have retained in the role map? Do I need external software to acheive this end result?
Are you attempting to delete content based on the tags? If so, it doesn’t work that way. You could work in the Content navigation pane to remove content but just remember that information on each page won’t reflow. Also, things like headings/page numbers and such won’t renumber either. If you need to do this level of editing you should export the PDF to a format like Word.
Lori, Yes, that was what I was needing to establish. The pdf was created from multiple word files. But since the pdf did have tags, I was hoping to do a pull from it. (The header and pg numbers were a non issue. It was for a note taker document based on the content from the original document.) I might just have to go a different route. Thanks so much!
