Since we started exporting PDFs from InDesign CS6, the page information line (at bottom of PDF page) shows only arabic numerals. Our i, ii, iii or a, b, c section numbering appears as 1, 2, 3 . . . How do you correct this, if possible?
Yes, it is set to section numbering.
In the pages window, it is clearly set with our front section i, ii, iii, iv, etc. and next section 1, 2, 3, etc.
But when exporting to pdf, the page info shows only numbers 1 - whatever.
We have a client who is questioning it.
Not sure what the preview mode has to do with it. That doesn't show anything outside of the trim box.
When exporting, the page info will start the first section with 1, 2, 3, etc. Then the 2nd section starts over with 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. I tried even in CS4 and it's the same.
If you postscript and distill, the page info at the bottom is correct with i, ii, iii, iv, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
It looks like it's this way in all versions of ID.
Preview mode will show you just as it says, a preview of what you'll see in the PDF. That's why I was asking you if you saw the correct numbering in preview mode. Do you? Maybe some screenshots will be helpful at this time. Your page panel showing your master pages and regular pages.
ELLIS: no, he is talking about the Page Information (a pdf option) OUTSIDE the trimbox, nothing you can see in the masters, pages or similar.
RANDALL: maybe you can "fake" the info in the master pages outside page margins and deactivate the checkbox when exporting to PDF
