Hi Guys,

Looks like easy question. But to me it is difficult...

I want to keep my text not editable format (Because, i have few symbols. they are approved by client). And this text should make outline at the end if I use "command + shift + O"

Example: If you see the below screenshot, the text "SYMBOL" should be in text format, but not in editable. And also that text has to be made outline if I use "command + shift + O"

awaiting for your smart answers.

Thanks & regards,

FroQ

If you want your text uneditable, but still want it to be live text, perhaps Object/Lock/Selection (Cmd+2) would work for you.

You would be unable to move it after that, but it does prevent it from being edited.

    FroQ,

It may be difficult for all of us.

When you Create Outlines the text becomes uneditable, and is no longer a special text format.

What is wrong in just outlining as you mention yourself?

Actually I don't get what the problem is.

Maybe you just forget to use the outline text command?

You could apply the effect "outline object" to the text. That way it is editable in the AI document. But when you save as a PDF without Illustrator editability options, the text will automatically be converted to paths in the PDF.

Break link to symbol, and then Cmd+shift+O

    Method I tried:

I tried with making the text format logos/symbol to SYMBOL format. But after making that, i can not make the outline. because that logo/symbol are in SYMBOL format.

I mean, use the symbol format so the the text is uneditable THEN when it is time, break the link to the symbol (as shown in post 6), so you can outline the text.

In an Illustrator file, when text is text (and not outlined) it will always be editable.

    I don't understand it anymore.

Each post adds another difficulty and contradicts everything that has been said before.

it may not be possible to make anything outlined but editable, similarly to make something visible but hidden

10 minutes of video showing you opening documents and zooming in and out of things?

There's no explanation in your video?
