Please Help me fade the corners out to transparent.

Hi, I have a photo that Iwant to look more natural by fading the corners out to transparent so it doesn't look like a square photo.

Here is an example. yo.jpg

I want it to be somewhat like this where the background of the image is like a gradient to transparent. if you could walk me through the steps, that would be Great. Thanks - Travis

    If the image is on a layer you could just use the erase tool set to a large soft brush.

    Here is with a 300 pixel 0% hardness brush and 60% opacity.  Go over some spots more than once.

    Use a layer mask, and paint out the BG with black, and then feather the mask using the mask properties panel.
