change font by typing name into Character palette

Aug 30, 2013 8:55 PM

I need a helvetica, but not helvetica inserat. no matter what I do, InDesign insists on offering up helvetica inserat. I can't delete inserat; else I get Minion (who knows why?).

I am accustomed to type palettes obeying having the name of the font typed into them, or part deleted. Any clue why ID's type palette is so insistent on giving me the font I don't want?

The alternative is to open the scroll down and go about 14 miles downward to the other Helveticas which is so...1984..

thank you for any clues!

What version of InDesign? What operating system? (Newer versions of InDesign are smarter....)

You can also try hightlighting the font name and pressing the up/down arrow keys to move through the list from the selected font.
