Gray Screen Whenever I import a Video on a track

Aug 30, 2013 9:33 PM

I can hear the audio too, it just won't let me see the visuals, so its impossible for me to edit. I have a Windows 8 64 Bit. Here's a picture.Primere issue.PNG

Looks like some kind of game play capture in an avi wrapper?

You need to identify the video codec inside the avi file.

    google - "G-Spot"

    -Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200840

Codec & Format information, with 2 links inside to read

-read both links in reply #1 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1270588

    .

Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing

I agree with John T., that the first thing that I would rule out, would be the video driver:

What is your brand/model graphics adapter, and device driver version?

If updating the video driver does not fix the display issue, then I would dig more deeply into the Video CODEC in those AVI files, per Shooter's suggestion:

You need to identify the video codec inside the avi file.

    google - "G-Spot"

Also, with some AV material, MediaInfo (another free file info utility), might be even better. Both of those programs are easy to use, very useful and free. No harm in having both on an editing system.

    Good luck,

    Hunt
