Hi, I am working with Adobe Professional 8 and a Internet Explorer on a Window 7 machine. Whenever I click the drop down from upper right hand menu bar to convery a webpage to pdf nothing happens. I am unable to create pdfs from any webpage or document. I have tried to "print" the webpage and select PDF as printer, that also doesnt work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe, and IE. Still no luck - any ideas on settings or things I should change?
The Acrobat 8 product family went into "end of support" / "end of life" some years ago. Acrobat 8 was not designed for Windows 7 compatibility.
You may want to consider using the currently available release of Acrobat (XI) which is compatible in Windows 7 / Windows 8.
My guess is that you have a 64-bit system and are running AA 8.0.0. Try updating Acrobat to AA 8.3.1. AA 8.1 is a minimum requirement for 64-bit systems. There may still be issues, but that is a first step that needs to be done in any case.
You might try a print to file and then open the file in Distiller to see if you get the PDF.
I'm having the same error except I just bought XI. It worked fine during the trial period. Now as soon as I purchase it, it doesn't work. Error says:
Acrobat had an error converting to PDF (Alert message in middle of screen)
Unknown Error Occured (In my download box)
