Hi

We're researching the possibility of moving from paper contracts to signable PDFs.I'm brand new to this - are the signable

fields something that can be created in Indesign? Do we first design the new agreements in indesign and then use some

other kind of tool to add signable fields?

Please help me get on the right track with this if you have some pointers :-)

Thanks!

Edit: I should say that I am of course talking about electronically signable pdfs

You can add signature fields in InDesign.

To allow Adobe Reader users to apply a certificate-based digital signature, the PDFs will need to be saved from Acrobat Pro with extended rights applied.

Although the signature field can be created in Indesign or Acrobat, and extended rights applied for signing and certifying the PDF, the person signing the document needs to have an electronic signature created as well. Even though this is a simple process, having your end user create a digital signature may be the hardest part of the process.
