I create a lot if Indesign templates for my clients.  Many of them for design purposes use all lower case for some things.

i.e. A name would appear as JOHN smith

I am able to caps lock JOHN so that no matter what name I type in there from the template it stays all caps.  But I cannot figure out a way to lock the last name so that no matter what I type it's always lower case.  This is important so that if someone is covering for me they don't accidentally add a capitol letter to things that shouldn't have them.

Thanks!

No. This is something that depends upon a an application. You could try to use a font that had all lower case letters where upper case letters should appear, but that is asking for a world of hurt.
