I cannot download PSE 11 from the adobe site. I press the download button and the ADA app is supposed to install. I have tried this on 2 machnes, one win 7 one win 8 and in both cases when you press the downlad button all you get is an inline message telling you to install the ADA but then, NOTHING
You need to save the file first before you can install it. I suggest go to this link:
Login if you have to and then click the download now button and save the file on your desktop or in a temp folder. Make sure you remember where you are saving. Once the download is complete, go to that folder and double-click on the downloaded file and follow the instructions given on your screen.
That was essentially the page I was on. When I click the 'download now' button I get a brief ' waiting for adobe.com' message at the foot of the page then the inline message that says what to do wit the ADA file but then nothing happens. I am not getting a prompt to save or run a file at all. Nothing happens, period.

Normally, you should get an automatic link to download the Adobe Download Assistant but for some reasons it is not working on your machine. However, I suggest use these links to download them direct from Adobe sites:
You may need to login in the normal way before the download works but try it anyway and let us know.
There are two files - an exe file and zip file. If you know how to unzip the file then you only need the second link; the exe file is to unzip the file and install it automatically.
Thanks mytaxsite, but unfortunatly both those links return an access denied message.
Calling all Adobe moderators - can you help me out please? I have lost my PSE11 installation CD and need to download the install files. I have a serial number because I registered the software with you. So it's all genuine. The download page is not working for me. When I Click the download now button I get a temp message 'waiting for Adobe.com' then nothing happens. Nada. I have tried this on two PC's, one running win 8 and one win 7 - to no avail.

This is not Adobe. It’s a user to user forum where volunteers try to help one another in the provided space.
Try clearing the ADA and start again. Follow the path below substituting your own user name for 99jon
C:\Users\99jon\AppData\Roaming\com.adobe.downloadassistant.AdobeDownlo adAssistant\Local Store
Double click on the Local Store folder and delete the contents.
Go back to the downloads page and refresh it (Ctrl+R)
Then start the download again which should include the ADA.
When the download completes open the PSE11 folder and double click on Setup.exe
From your last post it appears that the issue is now resolved.
Just curious to know which browser were you using? If the browser you were using is 'Google Chrome' try using (downloading PSE11) using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox from link: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements &loc=us
Please let me know if download process starts (you can cancel the download process after verifying if it is working fine).
