MXML files are corrupted

Sep 14, 2013 11:26 AM

I formated my PC and re-installed Operating System. After that i installed Flash Builder 4.5, When I tried to open the existing FLEX projects, I encountered following problems:

  • The .mxml files show special characters and actual code is replaced by garbage data.
  • 'content is not allowed in prolog' error occurs at compile time because the .mxml data is corrupted
  • Some of the projects cannot be imported in the workspace as the error appears that the folder does not contain valid project file

I am shocked that why the code files are showing strange characters instead of the actual code and why the existing projects are not working fine.

I am looking forward to some way to recover my code files and projects which were working fine previously.

Examine the mxml files with a text editor.  Make sure they are corrupted.  I've seen FB get confused by what XML library is used in your version of Java.

Not unless there is a pattern to the corruption.
