Converting Album Catalogs to Elements 11 Catalogs

Sep 16, 2013 5:33 AM

I am having difficulty converting my old Photoshop Album Catalogs (file extension .psa) to Elements 11.

Using "Manage Catalogs" from the file tab and then "Convert".  I get the convert catalog screen.  Using "find catalogs"  I can browse to the folder where the .psa Catalogs are but the window does not list them as choices for converting.

I have seen this question many times in the forum but none of the proposed solutions have worked for me.

This is especially annoying as one time (and only one time) it did list them and I was able to succesfully convert some of them but I can't recreate this for the remaining catalogs.

I don't remember doing anyting different the one time it worked.

You will need to tick the checkbox "Show previously converted catalogs" in the Convert dialog to see all of the available catalogs- since you have already converted them once.

    Thanks

What is the location of this catalog you are trying to convert?

    Thanks

That's really strange. Can you please give a screenshot of this catalog's contents - i..e open the catalog folder in windows explorer and take a screenshot.\

If the catalog name is "ABC" in C:\users\<uname>\Documents" then you should be able to locate it for conversion in the Conversion dialog by browsing upto "C:\users\<uname>\Documents" location.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the screenshot.

But I still am not sure why just one of the four does not show up in that dialog.

    Thanks

Just to emphasize again-While locating catalogs using "Find more catalogs", you should go only upto My Documents folder.

    Thanks
