When I import JPEG files to Organizer, the resulting thumbnails show up as opague with an hourglass symbol.
I previously imported hundreds of JPEG files and those thumbnails were always visible. My organizing has been brought to a standstill.
Any analysis would be appreciated.
Can you please turn off details from View > Details once and then import one jpeg -> now right click the thumbnail > Update thumbnail?
We can then try refresh thumbnail cache from scratch so that you don't need to individually update each thumb.
Glad to hear from you -- After I turn off the details and imported a JPEG from hard drive and right-clicked to Update Thumbnail, opague image covered by hourglass remains.
But now when I toggle to View>Details, the imported JPEG image is not to be seen anywhere in Organizer.
Any guidance continues to be appreciated.
Please create a new test catalog and see if the issue happens there as well?
To do so, click File > Manage Catalogs > New. If no, then we can safely remove thumbnail cache file of the older catalog.
Please let me know the result of this workflow in a new catalog.
Test JPEG image was visible in new Test catalogue.
Is the original (My Catalogue) catalogue filled and unusable?
About 1000 out of 1050 images in this catalogue are visible and able to be organized -- should I subdivide and move them to new catalogues, and is there an efficient way to do this?
