I'm trying to make a pattern whit the tool in illustrator, but I'm not able to erase lines inside the pattern. Why doesn't  the eraser tool work inside the pattern tool?

the condition you speak of only applies to closed paths. the erase tool works correctly on open paths

i have taken the question to mean that artwork that has a pattern brush applied to it is in use. this artwork appears to retain lines (with pattern brush applied) after the erase tool is applied on the said paths. solution would be to break the closed path(s)

    asaean,

As I (mis)understand it, you have to create/edit what is to become a pattern first, then make it into a(n unchangeable) pattern.

OK. You won't be able to change that.

Use other tools. e.g. the blob brush (it acts like the eraser) and then later subtract shapes via pathfinder.

Or use the pen tool, direct select etc. to correct your paths.
