importing video into elements 10

Sep 18, 2013 2:05 PM

I want to import clip 138 from a recent trip into elements.  It won't let me because there's a clip 138 from 2012 in my list of files under Users, etc.  How can I get the new 138 in without losing the old 138?

Why don't you change the clip name?

    Welcome to the forum.

One way would be to Rename that second Clip 138, say to 138_01, or something that you will recognize as being a different file.

    Good luck,

On a Mac's Finder, you just slowly double-click on the file to rename it.

Only an Elements Windows person here. But, from what I have read, the following is how you change a file name when you are using a Mac computer.

See if it works for you.

In Finder, open the folder where you know your file is.

Find the icon for the file.

Click once on the file icon to select it, and hit Enter which should make the text editable.

Make sure you are changing the file name and not the file extension.

    Hope that works for you.

Add On....granny marya, I did not see SG's post about renaming a file in Mac until after I posted mine. He has a Mac. I found about 2 or 3 online articles that were the basis for my suggestion.
