Win 7 Pro 64bit, Flash CS6 latest update, AIR latest (126.96.36.1990)
In Flash CS5.5 I've never seen this error but in CS6 I get this error constantly, than some icons path conflicts with another in the same path. This is just an old project I never converted to Flash Builder (no issue like this) nor have seen the issue in CS5.5.
Here's the error on a dummy project I literally set up just to create a reproducable error. File->New AIR (188.8.131.520) for iOS project, set the SWF/IPA/Icon paths in publish settings, include the folders for the icons (auto-gen'd by Flash), and the error happens every time:
I've researched it quite a bit and usually people change the paths of where icons are stored or just put the icons in the root path of the app to get rid of the error. Neither of these work for me.
For now I just continue to use the command line to compile these projects but it's becoming a real hassle.
Anyone find out the root cause of this?
Thanks for the tip. I haven't had a chance to test it but it almost makes perfect sense.
Flash must be auto-including them on the ADT command line if it finds them in the XML. Oddly a long time ago (3.2 or so) I would always have icons in a folder outside my project and if I used the icons tab to specify icons it would copy all icons into an "AppIconsForPublish" folder and include it in the files to export. So that would be a surprise to see Adobe enforce doing this and then without even mentioning anything, changing the behavior.
I'm due to publish it pretty soon and will post back if that's it.
