calibration error

I have elements 8.  when trying to open photoshop it gives a monitor profile error "Acer S231HL" defective.  How do I fix that?  I have never calibrated my monitor, but have had no issues with print issues.  The photoshop colors are now a slight different look than what is seen out of photoshop on my monitor.

If you are not using a particular profile (combination of printer/paper/ink) then set everything to sRGB including color management in PSE. From the Full Edit menu:

    Edit >> Color Settings

The worst possible setting, in most cases,  is “No color Management”

    Yes that's OK e.g.sRGB.

Make sure everything else is consistent e.g the print diriver is not set to another profile.
