I have created tags of my own And they work OK but for some reason what I assume are smart tags (they are in a language I do not understand) also are attached to some of my photos how can I delete them as they are greyed out?
You can't delete the smart tags themselves, but it's possible to delete them from the picture files, although it seems very cumbersome.
First, check your preferences to uncheck any autoanalysis (except for face recognition if you use it).
Since I have disabled that function I can only described the way it has been shown for PSE11, I think in this forum.
- for each smart tag in the list, in thumbnail view, select all (Ctrl A), right click and choose the option to delete tags, select the current smart tag and remove.
There are about a dozen smart tags to remove, not a single click method, but worth trying.
The smart tags generally appear in a different language if the catalog that you are using was created on a machine where the machine language settings were changed. However as asuggested by Michel, the way out is to select all media>Right Click>Remove Keyword Tags and iteratively remove all of them.
Glad to help.
