Freezing the text autoflow in a book

I have a book with 12 chapters. Can I freeze the autoflow so that the page breaks don't change, even though I'm still editing (corrections, insertions, illustrations, etc.).

(My author has cross-references to specific pages in footnotes, and he insists on finalizing this info even before we're done layout.)

I have found a hyphenation option when packaging, but wonder if there's any other way.

No, if you are changing it, it will change.

Near to what you are asking is the use of Keep Options in your paragraph styles. The cause the text to break to the top of the next column or page, for example.

Why not substitute REAL cross-refs for the ones your author is using so they can update automatically as things change?
