Tabs window is floating, I need it not to float

Oct 17, 2013 3:26 AM

Hi

hopefully some nice people can help me.  I'm trying to change the tabs on a paragraph of text but my tab window floats. I need it to be tied to the block of text. At the moment, if I move across the page, the tab window will no longer be above the text I'm trying to edit. It's driving me nuts.

many thanks

G

You can only click on the magnet symbol in the panel. But it won't stay there when you pan and zoom in the document.

I think it would be good for it to bevave the way you suggest and am not certin this is as designed. Perhaps it is a bug that has gone unnoticed or if as designed it sould be updated perhaps a feature request on this would be good.

Alternatively, if you are like me preferring pressing hotkeys instead of using the mouse you can press Ctrl + Shift + T twice after changing the view.

Look under Window > Type > Tabs. The shortcut if you have one should be displayed there, If you don't have one you can create it using Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts

I'm using CS5 on a pc and it came with the default installation
