Password Protect web site

Oct 21, 2013 10:54 AM

I currently maintain a web site in conjunction with another colleague

We both deal with seperate topics within the site and consequently have our own allocated files and folders

Is it possible to password protect my own data so that my colleague cannot gain access to my work and subsequently amend my publish files.

Nothing sinister in this, but as a beginner he has not yet fully mastered DW and i want to protect my work

Is this feasible

Using DW4

You can use file check in/check out so you don't accidentally work on the same files at the same time, but there isn't anything within DW that would allow you to block him from accessing the files if you were not actively using them.

You can setup different FTP accounts for the different directories so you don't accidentally edit each others work. You should be able to do this via the host control panel for your site.
